The May issue of Young Guitar features Metallica on the cover and in a major feature.
This 100-page book provides a comprehensive look at the past and present of this ultimate metal icon, who will be releasing his latest album, "72 SEASONS," on April 14th.

The highlight topic is "Metallica's Best Riff General Election 2023."
Last month, YG conducted a public survey on their official website and social media asking, "What are your three favorite Metallica riffs?"
In addition, comments from over 50 artists and related parties were also taken into consideration to determine the winner of the 'Strongest Riff', and the voting results for all 107 songs have now been announced!
The top 30 songs are presented with guitar scores and explanations of how to play them.
We also feature a wealth of reader comments sent in during the voting process.

Other features include a commentary just before the release of the new album, "Metallica Then and Now" in which journalist Masanori Ito talks about the truth about the band, and an interview with John Petrucci of Dream Theater, who said that the band's musicality influenced them.
The score includes the new song "Lux Aeterna" and the classic "Master Of Puppets"!

The second feature is about Megadeth. We take a closer look at the miracle of their Budokan concert, which finally came to fruition after 30 years, through interviews with the entire band and Marty Friedman.

The special feature on Paul Gilbert's guitar cover instrumental "THE DIO ALBUM," dedicated to Ronnie James Dio, also includes detailed information about the recording equipment.
Also check out the special feature on Arch Enemy's visit to Japan (interview & equipment), an interview with the guitar team of DEVILOOF, who will be releasing their major label debut EP, and four reproduced Marshall pedals!
