Shohei Ohtani achieved the unprecedented 50-50 record in his first year after transferring to the prestigious Dodgers in the National League.
This season, Ohtani has focused on being a hitter, and despite being a designated hitter, he has become the sixth player in history to hit 40 home runs and steal 40 bases.
He ultimately hit 54 home runs and stole 59 bases, putting him in a different league, and was the driving force behind the Dodgers' third consecutive Western Division championship.
We look back with photos at this astonishing season in which he broke the seasonal records held by Japanese players by Hideki Matsui and Ichiro, and became the first Japanese player to win the home run and RBI titles for two consecutive years.
The end of the issue features Ohtani's first postseason.
