[About the Author]
Author profile: Matsubayashi Tenpei was born in Tokyo on June 12, 1953.
His father was Toho film director, Matsubayashi Muneyoshi.
In March 1975, during his third year of university, he was hired as a part-timer at Warner Pioneer's Western Music Department.
He joined the company as a full-time employee upon graduation in 1976.
As a director, he has worked with Queen, the Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Lee Ritenour, Grover Washington Jr., Television, and Motley Crue, among others.
In 1983, he turned to being a Japanese music producer and produced recordings for Shonentai, Kiyotaka Sugiyama, Carlos Toshiki & Omega Tribe, Atsumi Kurazawa, Jackie Chan, Akiko Wada, Katsuhiko Nakagawa, Cho Yongpil, LL Brothers, and others.
In 1994, he joined Horipro Inc. and oversaw the music side of things.
As a master recording producer, he has worked with Akiko Wada, Sayuri Ishikawa, Kyoko Fukada, Hajime Mizoguchi, Masako Mori, and others.
He is currently working as a freelance music producer, creative director and writer.
